Frequently Asked Questions

What is Cast Iron Chef?

Cast Iron Chef is an open-fire cooking tournament with a medieval flair. Chefs arrive the day of the event with no idea what they’ll be cooking with until we say GO! The team who puts together the most “period-plausible,” delicious, well-presented and creative dishes over the fire will come out victorious and win fame, glory, and fabulous prizes!

When and where is this competition?

Cast Iron Chef is held every year at Delftwood’s A Shoot in the Wyldewood event, which is traditionally held over the Labor Day weekend every year.  The specific day and time of the archery portion has been known to change from year to year, so keeping an eye out for announcements is a good idea. The cooking portion of the tournament is traditionally held on Sunday morning.
